2097440 - The viewer could not process an event. The data source is invalid: 'while trying to invoke the method java.lang.Object.getClass() of a null object loaded from local variable ‘io’’

Symptom

  • When opening Crystal Reports 2011 reports in BI Launchpad, the following error occurs:

“The viewer could not process an event. The data source is invalid: 'while trying to invoke the method java.lang.Object.getClass() of a null object loaded from local variable ‘io’’. Please contact the maintainer of the data source to solve the problem. [JRC00005380]---- Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]”

  • Crystal Reports Cache Servers were disabled on some nodes; when we tried to enable them an error saying cannot contact xxxxx.CrystalReportsCacheServer and failed to enable the server. It happens to DashboardCacheServer too.
