2099172 - rs_init fails with - Unable to log into Replication Server as user RSname_ra - SRS

Symptom

  • SAP Replication Server (SRS) rs_init utility configuration file indicates that the connection to the SRS must use the sa user (rs.rs_rs_sa_user: sa)
  • but in the log file, we can see that rs_init tries to connect with another user (RSname_ra) and it fails:

Running task: verify users and their passwords.
SQL Server message: msg 14021, level 12, state 0
WARNING: "Invalid login attempted by user 'RS_name_ra'"
Unable to log into Replication Server 'RS_name' as user 'RS_name_ra'.
Task failed: verify users and their passwords. Terminating configuration.
Configuration failed.
Exiting.
