2101820 - Random problems with connections with ESP 5.1 PL04 when the server is under heavy load

Symptom

When an SAP Event Stream Processor (ESP) 5.1 SP04 server receives high rates of updates, client applications randomly get unhandled exceptions after subcribing or publishing to the server or calling methods on the connection to the server. 

  • A .NET Runtime client may get an unhandled exception due to problems with the connection to the server
  • A java client may get a java.lang.NullPointerException while trying to invoke a method on the connection
  • The development studio may appear to hang after some time showing no more updated values in the stream viewer, even when re-connecting to the server
