Symptom
What time do “Posting Start Time” and “Posting End Time” refer to? “Posting Start Time” and “Posting End Time” show one hour ahead, two hours late, wrong timezone:

Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Cause
Posting start time and Posting end time depend on the Windows timezone (machine timezone) of the user performing the action.
This has always been the case and there are no plans to change it at the moment.
In B1405, “Posting Start Time” and “Posting End Time” were introduced to clarify when the posting starts and ends in terms of user’s timezone.
- Some users in Pacific time zone thought the posting ending at midnight in their timezone though the server was in Arizona. In fact, as mentioned above, the posting ends at midnight in Arizona timezone. Therefore some postings look like they ended before the due time. This was confusing.
- Now users can see at what time the posting will end in their timezone.
Resolution
- You would need to ensure that the user's timezone matches its machine timezone.
- Besides, the user’s timezone should not be a three-digit code, which is deprecated, but a full timezone id (Admin Tools> Manage Users or Admin tools> Export Users> Admin Tools > Import Users)
- The system takes into account changes (1 hour forward/ backward) regarding daylight savings automatically.
Please note that the time zone displayed in the Job Postings tab will always show the time zone of the logged in user. Therefore, if you are logged in as User A with time zone EST and proxy User B who has time zone IST, the time zone displayed in the Job Postings tab will show as EST and not IST.
