Reproducing the Issue
Browse catalog> Language & Currency> Currency
Resolution
Currency information being displayed in the catalog search results and pricing display can be turned off by making the currency ID "Inactive"
- References > Commerce > Currencies
- Select and edit desired currency ID: set to INACTIVE
