2105598 - Signal 11 at dbts_ptscmp - SAP ASE for BS

Symptom

  • User session terminates unexpectedly
  • When running a query to determine free log space using lct_admin() built-in
  • ASE errorlog reports signal 11 at address  dbts_ptscmp with a stack trace containing following top function names:
    • dbts_ptscmp+0x1b()
    • num_logpages+0x784()
    • th_lct_admin+0x1e9()

  • As a result ASE can crash due to hitting stack overflow, with the log showing entries (followed by further stacktraces):
    • *** Stack guardword corrupted.
    • *** Stack corrupted, server aborting.
