Symptom
- User session terminates unexpectedly
- When running a query to determine free log space using lct_admin() built-in
- ASE errorlog reports signal 11 at address dbts_ptscmp with a stack trace containing following top function names:
- dbts_ptscmp+0x1b()
- num_logpages+0x784()
- th_lct_admin+0x1e9()
- As a result ASE can crash due to hitting stack overflow, with the log showing entries (followed by further stacktraces):
- *** Stack guardword corrupted.
- *** Stack corrupted, server aborting.
