2107942 - Tivoli error ANS1088E configuring TSM for different source and target machines - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • After configuring Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) to allow dump to and load from different source and target ASE, Backup Server reports :

Backup Server: 4.124.2.1: Archive API error for device='syb_tsm::-STEST -Dpubs2::pubs2.DB.20141210.120648.000::000':
Vendor application name=Sybase-TSM API, Library version=2, API routine=syb_open(), Message=Tivoli Storage Manager error returned.
Message = ANS1088E (RC124)  File space '*' does not exist Msg 8009, Level 16, State 1

  • Checking the configuration in ASE using sp_querysmobj returns another Backup Server message :

Backup Server: 3.68.2.3: Cannot query backup objects from storage manager.
Message = 'No backup object matching specified criteria found.'.
