2113162 - Error 7078 returned upon next login after setting the Admin/ADSSYS Data Dictionary password in Advantage Database Server

Symptom

  • When attempting to set the Data Dictionary (DD) Administrator password programmatically via the ADS TAdsDictionary object, the password doesn't seem to apply/commit.
  • Attempting to open the DD within Advantage Data Architect (ARC) using the set password, will result in an error 7078, "The Advantage Database Server cannot authenticate the user".
