2116799 - Error 1142 "Invalid OAM Page..." during database recovery or load - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Error 1142 reported during a database recovery progress will cause the database recovery to fail:

Error: 21, Severity: 22, State: 1
WARNING - Fatal Error 1142 occurred at Nov  2 2014 11:39AM.  Please note the error and time, and contact a user with System Administrator (SA) authorization.
Error: 1142, Severity: 22, State: 1
Invalid OAM Page 2320. Found pstat=0x82, object=5382971172, database=9, indid=3.
Database '<database_name>' (dbid 9): Recovery failed. Check the ASE errorlog for further information as to the cause.

  • Error 1142 can also occur when loading a database:

Timestamp for database '<database_name>' is (0x0000, 0x00001330).
nspacket: send, Connection refused
Error: 7215, Severity: 18, State: 1
Can't send to site 'SYB_BACKUP'.
nspacket: send, Connection refused
Error: 7215, Severity: 18, State: 1

Log contains all committed transactions until 2014/10/23 02:19:25.47 for database <database_name>.
