Symptom

Attempting to create a subscription causes the following error in the Replication Server (RS) log:

ERROR #11061 USER(...) - s\stscol.c(2404) Check the log for error messages from RSSD.
ERROR #1028 USER(...) - s\stscol.c(2404) Message from server: Message: 102, State 181, Severity 15 -- 'Incorrect syntax near '�'. '.
