Symptom

  • Running an ALTER DATABASE ... FOR LOAD
  • Database being altered is an in-memory database (IMDB)
  • Error 9004 reported in ASE error log:

    server  Error: 9004, Severity: 24, State: 1
    server  I/O error detected on disk buffer 0x0x1521181f0 for page request 2304, dbid 4.

  • Error 9004 followed by stack trace which includes the module crdb_init_first_au()
