Symptom
You execute the Work in Progress (WIP) Clearing Run, but production lot XXX in status 'Finished' for the same accounting period has not been considered.
XXX means the production lot ID.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Inventory Valuation Work Center.
- Go to the Periodic Tasks - WIP Clearing.
- Select the respective Run ID and click View.
- Navigate to tab Processed Successfully.
- You see that production Lot XXX has not been processed.
Cause
The amount of costs which went into the production of production lot XXX equal the amount of the output.
You can check this as follows:
- Open the Inventory Valuation Work Center.
- Go to the Reports - List and select the report Production Lots - Line Items.
- Run the report for the respective Accounting Period and Production Lot XXX.
- Add Business Transaction Type to Rows.
- You see that the amounts for input costs* (for example, Goods Issue for Production, Internal Service Confirmation, Overhead Absorption) are balanced by the output** (for example, Goods Receipt from Production).
Resolution
This is the expected system behavior.
Production lots are only considered in the WIP Clearing Run if there is a difference between input and output amount(s).
* Shown as positive amount
** Shown as negative amount
