Symptom

  • Assign user to group SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR fails at the step "configuration of system landscape directory" of the configuration wizard.

  • The server default trace file contains the following exception:


"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: User name 'administrator' exceeds the maximal length 12 in ABAP
at com.sap.ctc.util.core.services.impl.ume.abap.PrincipalConfig.validateUserNameLength(PrincipalConfig.java:74)
at com.sap.ctc.util.core.services.impl.ume.abap.UserAbapImpl.(UserAbapImpl.java:46)"
