2119668 - ADO.NET: Unsupported charset failure when attempting to connect to ASE configured with sjis charset - SDK for SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When connecting to SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise with charset=ServerDefault or if the Client side is set to use sjis and ClientCharset is set to sjis, there is a failure:
    • System.NotSupportedException: Unsupported charset!
  • The RIBO trace shows:
