2120412 - Execution of CREATE/ALTER DATABASE ... FOR LOAD does not perform in parallel even though documentation states that it will - Pre-ASE 15.7 SP130

Symptom

  • Execution of CREATE/ALTER DATABASE ... FOR LOAD performs serially
  • Output of sp_monitorconfig 'large i/o buffers' shows only one large i/o buffer in use
  • Configuration parameters for parallel processing have been configured beyond default settings:
              max parallel degree
              max scan parallel degree
              number of worker processes
              number of large i/o buffers
  • ASE Performance & Tuning Guide states that CREATE/ALTER DATABASE will use parallel processing.
