Symptom

When patching your SAP kernel with APYSIDKRN, you receive one of the errors below;

  • APYSIDKRN: Invalid SAP release (721; expect 720)
  • APYSIDKRN: Invalid SAP release (740; expect 720)
  • APYSIDKRN: Invalid SAP release (741; expect 721)
  • APYSIDKRN: Invalid SAP release (745; expect 742)

This error shows the same whether you run an EXT or NON-EXT SAP kernel
