Symptom
You want to know why the Service Order Header Data Source does not show Service Orders with In Preparation status.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Business Analytics Work Center.
- Go to Design Data Sources View.
- Select Show All and Find for Service Order Header.
- Select Preview.
- Add the Characteristic Life Cycle Status (Header) to the Rows.
Find that the Data Source does not show Service Orders which are in In Preparation status even though the application has multiple Service Orders in the same status.
Cause
The report will only display/retrieve Service Order documents which meet the following parameters:
1. Consistent
AND
2. Released OR Not Relevant
The Service Order Header data source will filter out the In Preparation status primarily for the reason that when a document is in In preparation status it is more like being in the draft mode. When a service order is in In Preparation status, in addition to making changes to the document the user also has the option of deleting it.
For sales orders and the Sales Order Header data source, there is a similar restriction on the consistency status, i.e. inconsistent sales orders will be filtered out in this data source.
Resolution
This is designed system behavior. Data Sources will capture only those Service Orders with any of the following entries:
1) Open.
2) In Process.
3) Completed.
If the user requires the Data Source to capture Service Orders with In Preparation status then they can create a new data source in PDI.
