Symptom

  • Dump database from pre-15.7 SP100
  • Load a database dump from pre-15.7 SP100 into 15.7 SP13X
  • After 'online database' command, this message is reported:
The allocation of extents for sysdams in database 'db_name' failed.
  • Depending on the client type used, error 1817 can be returned to the user : 
Message number: 1817, Severity 10, State 7, Line 1

Message String: The allocation of extents for sysdams in database 'db_name' failed.
