Symptom

  • Issue setting up RFC server interface on Data Services management console.
  • RFC server will not start.
  • Error:" [SEVERE ] An error occurred while connecting to the server. :Connect to SAP gateway failed Connection parameters: TYPE=A DEST=Name@##.###.##.### ASHOST=##.###.##.### SYSNR=00 PCS=1 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR hostname 'servername or ip' unknown."
  • Error:" Initialization of destination XXX failed: Connection closed without message (CM_NO_DATA_RECEIVED)."
