2127665 - "EJB Model Builder: SAXParseException" error during deployment, complaining about 'Invalid Content'

During the deployment of a custom developed Development Component (DC) the deployment log drops a warning like below:

Warning occurred on server xxxxxxxxx during update of vendor.com/custom~example~ear : EJB Model Builder: SAXParseException(Error) occurred while parsing xml 'META-INF/ejb-j2ee-engine.xml' from archive 'vendor.com~custom~example~ejbmodule~ejbjar.jar' : org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'message-props'. One of '{ejb-ref, ejb-local-ref, resource-ref, resource-env-ref, message-destination-ref, server-component-ref, ior-security-config, app-startup-method, app-shutdown-method, bean-props, retriable-methods}' is expected.

Besides this the DC can be deployed as it is a deployment 'Warning'. But the application cannot work properly afterwards as the XML in it could not be parsed.
