2129315 - The change to the CHIP definition is incompatible

You have a BPM Process in your system with some ongoing BPM Task for business users. The BPM Process has been designed by integrating ABAP CHIP UI, which is working currently fine. Then you have a new business requirement and you need to add a new attribute to the existing WD ABAP CHIP. After adding the new attribute and deploying the BPM process with the changes, you get the error "The change to the CHIP definition is incompatible" when you try to open the task from UWL. This affects both the newly created process instances and thee old ones.
