2129860 - You Cannot Add the New Party Role in a Corporate Account

Symptom

You have created a new party role but you cannot add it to an account as a responsibility.

Reproducing the Issue

You have defined a new custom Party Role from the activity Party Role Definition and you expect the new Party Role to be visible in a corporate account :

  1. Go to Business configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
  3. Click on Open Activity list and go to Fine-Tune.
  4. Select Party Role Definition.
  5. Open the activity and create a new Party Role.
  6. Save and Close.
  7. Go to Account Management work center.
  8. Select the account ABC (ABC represents the ID of the account).
  9. Edit this account and go to Contacts tab.
  10. Under the tab Responsibilities, click button Add Row.
  11. You expect to find your newly created Party Role but it is not in the list. 

Cause

The newly created party role will not be displayed in an account until you have defined a work distribution rule for the work category Account Responsibility by Party Role.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Application and User Management work center.
  2. Select Task Distribution -> Employee Work Distribution view.
  3. Select the work category Account Responsibility by Party Role.
  4. Click Edit button and select Add Rule.
  5. Chose a name, employee responsible and validity period.
  6. Save and Close.

Now if you check again the account ABC, in the Responsibilities list, the new party role will be displayed.
