2130190 - HPUX basis_daioconfig: ioctl(ASYNC_CONFIG) failed: Resource temporarily unavailable - ASE

Symptom

  • Configured ASE on HP-UX server to use asynchronous I/O
  • ASE the devices fail to start up with ASYNC
  • ASE will fall back to using standard unix i/o
  • The messages in the ASE log looks like the following:

kernel  basis_daioconfig: ioctl(ASYNC_CONFIG) failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
kernel  basis_daioconfig: Asynchronous I/O not available
kernel  Initializing virtual device 0, '<device_name>' with dsync 'off'.
kernel  Virtual device 0 started using standard unix i/o.
server  Loaded default Unilib conversion handle.
