2130902 - How to add a Custom Insensitive String Type SOLR Field

A situation might arise where you with to add a new SOLR Field type due to the way filters are applied. An example of such a situation is if your EAN or product id is not numeric. EAN is assigned to a "string" type by default, which is case sensitive. If an EAN was indexed as uppercase, no results will be returned since queries will be lowercased. The following steps should be followed to add a case insensitive string type.
