Symptom

  1. Attempting to apply an SMP / SUP Patch
  2. An error similar to the following is seen:

    Admin Tooling failed to upgrade
    Extraction of
    e:\SUP-Install-Files\SMP23005_0-21011046\ebf23744\rt-spupgrade-x64-2.3.5.239-drop10\modules\adminTooling\admintoolingSCC.zip
    failed

    In the installation logs the following error is seen:

    (Feb 16, 2015 11:25:01 AM), null, com.sybase.stf.install.uep.wizardaction.ExtractZipFile, err, ERROR: java.io.FileNotFoundException: E:\SAP\SCC-3_2\common\lib\csi-uaf-sup.jar (Access is denied)
    (Feb 16, 2015 11:25:01 AM), null, com.sybase.stf.install.uep.wizardaction.ExtractZipFile, err, ERROR: E:\rt-spupgrade-x64\modules\adminTooling\admintoolingSCC.zip extracted to E:\SAP\SCC-3_2: false
    (Feb 16, 2015 11:25:14 AM), null, com.sybase.stf.install.uep.wizardaction.ExtractZipFile, err, ERROR: Admin Tooling failed to upgrade.
    Extraction of E:\rt-spupgrade-x64\modules\adminTooling\admintoolingSCC.zip failed.
