2132157 - Indicator Field Unintentionally Unchecked After Migration

Symptom

While updating records using the Migration tool, you have noticed tha an indicator field was unchecked by the migration despite no change having been done to said field in the migration template used.

Environment

 SAP Business ByDesign.

Cause

The indicator fields are Boolean fields, which can be checked (true) or unchecked (false). In the migration tool, this is represented by an X or a blank field. As such, when updating data using the migration tool, if a field is blank, the system will interpret this as setting the field to false.

This behavior applies to all indicator fields (standard or custom) for all migration objects. The system overwrites indicator field selections every time an existing record is enhanced and migrated.

Resolution

If you wish to retain the relevant selections in the system, you must maintain them again while enhancing the record. For example, to retain a particular customer as a prospect in the system, you must maintain the value X in the Prospect field before migrating the enhanced record.
