2133087 - Error: "Assignment failed for appset X application Y" when saving an assignment in Controls for BPC NW 10.1

Symptom

  • Error when trying to save a new assignment for a model in the Controls in BPC NW 10.1 Administration web client
  • Errors: "An exception of type 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB' occurred, that was not caught anywhere in the call hierarchy. It was not handled locally or declared using a RAISING clause."
    or "Assignment failed for appset XXXX application YYYY"
  • When clicking on F12, the following error is logged in 'Console' tab when trying to save the assignment:
    "Error - 500 - Internal Server Error -  sap.epm.ui.common.ServiceProxy"
