Symptom

  • ERP installation hangs at the "Setup Database Server" phase.
  • ASE errorlog includes message like:

basis_dlock: file 'C:\sybase\XXX\sybsystem\master.dat' already in use by an ASE
kdconfig: unable to read primary master device
kiconfig: read of config block failed

  • Installation logs may shows messages like:

Running task: set optimization goal.
CONNECTIVITY ERROR: Open Client message: 'ct_results(): network packet layer: internal net library error: Net-Library operation terminated due to disconnect'.
CONNECTIVITY ERROR: Open Client message: 'ct_cancel(): network packet layer: internal net library error: Net-Library operation terminated due to disconnect'.
CONNECTIVITY ERROR: Open Client message: 'ct_cmd_drop(): user api layer: external error: The connection has been marked dead.'.
CONNECTIVITY ERROR: Error getting results from server 'XXX'.
Task failed: set optimization goal. Terminating configuration.
Configuration failed.
Exiting.
