The SAP Product Lifecycle Management for Insurance application has some synchronous processes which once executed opens a web page dialog that displays a log of the process execution along with a timer that records the elapsed time. If the process runs too long the web browser could timeout while waiting for a response and the user will no longer receive progress updates even though the timer is still running.
