2138424 - invalid character value for cast specification when binding a decimal value used in a parameterized SQL command - ECDA

Symptom

Running a command with a subquery that involves an ASE proxy to the ECDA for MSSQL server containing numeric data, parameterizes the numeric value and error is thrown:

Msg 30291, Level 19, State 0:
Server 'mssqls', Line 3:
[[Message Iteration=1|Data Source Name=MSSQLS|SQLState=22018|Native Error=0|Message=[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid character value for cast specification]
Command has been aborted.
