2139402 - Personalized View Is Ignored In Excel Workbook

Symptom

You may experience that a personalized view in an MS Excel workbook is ignored and instead the default view of the report is considered. In such a situation even though the name of the personalized view is displayed actually the default view of the report is shown.

Cause

This is due to a current limitation. Nevertheless please note that this situation only arises if there are mandatory parameters needed and if these are kept blank.

For example: A report view which is not the default view requires a mandatory parameter on variable Project (Note: Such parameters are shown with an asterisk / *). If you create a workbook based on such view and do not enter any value for Project before saving the workbook the next time you open and refresh it there will be data shown from the default view of the report.

Resolution

You can bypass this limitation by giving valid parameter value to all mandatory variables.

If this for some reason is not feasible users should be made aware that they have to reselect the same view (click on the view name from the dropdown list of the report views) to see the data for the personalized view.
