This article addresses to the high CPU usage related with the hmc, which could be caused by the AllInstancesSelectEditorChip which is an editor chip (uses in hcm) that renders referenced composed type attributes in an editor as a combo box (select box). The factors that contribute with this behaviour is that this box loads all instances of the composed type AllInstancesSelectEditorChip.getAllValues without any pagination or filter.
