2140524 - Error Message: Payroll period cannot be completed; Next payroll period does not exist

You get an error message when you try to change or close the payroll period.

1. Go to Payroll Processing Workcenter
2. Go to Payroll Run
3. Select the relevant run
4. Click on Close Pay Period an Error message is displayed: Payroll period cannot be completed; Next Payroll Period does not Exist

The cause for the error is that when you are trying to close the current payroll period on a particular date, there is no continuous payroll period starting immediately.

You need to maintain the payroll periods in continuation with the period that you are changing/closing so that system can identify the next current payroll period.
