2144525 - Data Extraction from PI System

Symptom

A system has been defined as PI system. In order to check and identify if the system has been defined as a central PI instance, you can use function module SXMB_GET_XMB_USE:

 The following possible symptoms can appear during data extraction:

  • Only the source sytem has been defined as central PI Instance

    BW (target) system

    • Transaction SM58

              - Transaction IDX1: Port xxxx , client xxx, RFC destination  contain error Message no. SR053
              - Or 'No service for system SAPxxx, client xxc in integration directory."

    • Monitor for the appropriate request

    SAP source system

    • Transaction BD87: No IDocs arrived
    • Transaction SM37: NO extraction job such as BIREQU* is available
    • Transaction SM21: Error

  • Only the BW system has been defined as central PI Instance

    BW (target) system

    • Transaction SM21:

      sm21.PNG


    • Monitor of the appropriate request; only RSINFO is missing, data has been uploaded

    SAP Source System

    • Transaction BD87: IDocs have been send with success
    • Transaction SM37: Extraction job BIREQ* finished with success
