Symptom
- Unable to open the dashboard (.XLF) in SAP Dashboards after upgrading from Excel 2007 to either Excel 2010 or Excel 2013
- SAP Dashboards crashes when working with Excel 2010 and 2013 versions.
Environment
- SAP Dashboards 4.1
- Xcelsius 2008
- MS Excel 2010, 2013
Reproducing the Issue
- Launch SAP Dashboards
- Open any .xlf
Cause
- the excel option “Allow changes by more than one user …” is enabled
Resolution
- Open the .Xlf using Xcelsius 2008/SAP Dashboards where MS Excel 2007 is installed
- Go to Data > Export
- Save the excel file locally
- Open the file in MS Excel 2007
- Go to Review > Share Workbook > Editing tab
- Uncheck the option: 'Allow changes by more than one user at the same time. This also allows workbook merging.'
7. Save the file
8. Go back to SAP Dashboards
9. Go to Data > Import to import the same updated file
10. Save the XLF
