2146632 - Unable to see list of universes in Dashboards Designer under Query Browser

Symptom

No universes are listed in Dashboards Designer 4.x under Query Browser >> Universes. Administrator users can see all the universes.

Environment

  • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.0
  • SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.0
  • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.1
  • SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.1

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Assign Full control access level on a particular universe for a user in CMC
  2. In Dashboards Designer >> Query Browser click on Add Query
  3. Login using this (non-admin) user
  4. Select Universes
  5. See that the list of available universes is empty 
  6. Now if logged in using Administrator user, the universes are listed

Cause

The user does not have access to the top-level Universes folder.

Resolution

Assign Top-level security on the Universes folder for the user through CMC:
