2150076 - BI Platform 4.X Installation Fails on Unix

Symptom

When running BI Platform or IPS installation in an AIX or Solaris server, the installer (setup.sh) first caches the deployment units. For example:

  • Deploy unit "platform.services.jobprocessing.authenticationupdateschedulingservice-4.0-core-nu" is being copied to: "/<BI_Platform_Install_Dir>/InstallData/InstallCache/"
    • The resulting absolute path is:
      "/<BI_Platform_Install_Dir>/InstallData/InstallCache/platform.services.jobprocessing.authenticationupdateschedulingservice-4.0-core-nu/14.0.4.738/assemblycontent.zip"
    • This path would then be truncated to
      "/<BI_Platform_Install_Dir>/InstallData/InstallCache/platform.services.jobprocessing.authenticationupdateschedulingservice-4.0-core-nu/14.0.4.738/assemblycont"
      or similar which causes the install to fail.
  • Installed core dumps at ~14%
  • Error in setupengine.log
    Error: Missing DU bundle file: /businesobjects/BO4/InstallData/InstallCache/<component>/<version>/assemblycontent.zip
