2150175 - Warning / Information Message While Accessing Exchange Rate Screen

When a user navigates to the Edit Exchange Rate view a warning / information message shows:

Different user and system time zone. Check that the date/time conversion from user to system time zone does not lead to a date change. SAP recommends to use a user having system time zone. User time zone (UTC+00:00) Greenwich Mean Time with daylight saving time (UK), system time zone (UTC+00:00) Burkina Faso, Bouvet Islands, Cote d'Ivoire, West Sahara, Ghana, Greenland, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Heard/McDon.Isl, Brit.Ind.Oc.Ter, Iceland.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to General Ledger work center.
2. Select Common Tasks -> Edit Exchange Rates view.

Here the system raises the information message:

The information message displayed on the exchange rate screen is to inform the user that ByDesign is considering the (UTC+00:00) time zone to have an international standard.

This will be raised for systems having a system time zone set up deviating from (UTC+00:00) Burkina Faso, Bouvet Islands, Cote d'Ivoire, West Sahara, Ghana, Greenland, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Heard/McDon.Isl, Brit.Ind.Oc.Ter, Iceland.

Besides this, every tenant may have a time zone different from system time zone. This can be checked in the Business Configuration activity Time Zone Maintenance.

Also each user can set up a time zone via Personalize-> My Settings or in the business user's Attributes.

If the user time zone is different from system time zone or tenant time zone - the system raises the information message.

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Select Implementation Projects view.
3. Select the respective implementation project.
4. Click Open Activity List.
5. Go to Fine tune tab.
6. Search for activity: Time Zone Maintenance and open it.

Option A: If time zone field is not maintained or maintained as (UTC+00:00) you can change the user time zone to avoid the warning message.

Please follow below mentioned steps to change the user time zone.

1. Go to the Application and User Management work center.
2. Select the Business User view.
3. Search for the user.
4. Click Edit and select Attributes.
5. Under the Regional Settings section, you can change the time zone of the user to (UTC+00:00) Burkina Faso, Bouvet Islands, Cote d'Ivoire, West Sahara, Ghana, Greenland, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Heard/McDon.Isl, Brit.Ind.Oc.Ter, Iceland.

Or

1. Logon with the user.
2. Click Personalize.
3. Select My Settings.
4. Under the Regional Settings tab.
5. Select the time zone to (UTC+00:00) Burkina Faso, Bouvet Islands, Cote d'Ivoire, West Sahara, Ghana, Greenland, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Heard/McDon.Isl, Brit.Ind.Oc.Ter, Iceland.
6. Save the details.
7. Log out and logon again.

After maintaining User time zone as (UTC+00:00) Burkina Faso, Bouvet Islands, Cote d'Ivoire, West Sahara, Ghana, Greenland, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Heard/McDon.Isl, Brit.Ind.Oc.Ter, Iceland, when you access the exchange rate screen, warning or information message is not raised.

Option B: If the time zone is set up in the business configuration activity: Time Zone Maintenance is not (UTC+00:00) Burkina Faso, Bouvet Islands, Cote d'Ivoire, West Sahara, Ghana, Greenland, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Heard/McDon.Isl, Brit.Ind.Oc.Ter, Iceland then currently there is no option to avoid the warning message.
