2152168 - Position-Based Planning - Formless Nominations and the Readiness Rating Scale - Succession

Symptom

Succession Planning and the Readiness Rating Scale

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Succession

Resolution

When a client uses Succession Planning by Position, it is required that they MUST also maintain a rating scale named exactly "Readiness".

The SuccessFactors application by design requires the "Readiness" rating scale to exist for formless nominations. Some clients may also have custom Succession Spreadsheet Reports that also rely on a rating scale named Readiness.

Renaming the scale to "ABCco Readiness Scale" for example will break the formless nomination process so that a user cannot select any readiness value to complete the submission. Deleting the Readiness scale would also have the same effect of breaking the process.

Spreadsheet reports that rely on this scale existing will return 0 results if a client was to rename or delete it.

The solution is to make sure a scale exists that is called Readiness.

If the client has a readiness scale by another name that they have been using for some time and is now hardcoded into other forms, then simply renaming it will not be a solution unless the master template is also updated. In this scenario the client may need to maintain the existing custom readiness scale, and then create a second scale called Readiness with the same values needed.

Note: The Readiness Rating Scale is universal across the system, so it is the same regardless of whether it is used in Succession Org Chart, Talent Pools, Talent Card or Talent Search.
