2153457 - Unable to Launch Lumira Desktop

Symptom

  • When launching Lumira Desktop, the following error message pops up:
    An error has occurred. See the log file <path_to_log_file>
    lum_err.PNG 

  • In the log file, the following entries are recorded:

Environment

  • SAP Lumira Desktop/Discovery, version 1 and higher
  • Operating System: Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Launch Lumira Desktop
  2. Error message pops up

Cause

This issue is caused by anti-virus scan (e.g. McAfee On-access Scan) on the client Windows OS

Resolution

Turn off any anti-virus software, or add an exception rule for Lumira Desktop process.

Note: Depending on how the antivirus is configured it may cause slow downs for software, please work with your I.T. department to properly configure your antivirus for your organizational needs.
