2156841 - Delete Chart of Accounts - Error Messages on Account Assignments

Symptom

You are not able to delete Chart of Accounts due to the below error messages:

'Value ABC in setting G/L Account Group: Account Assignment must also be entered in setting Chart of Accounts'.
'Value XXX in setting G/L Account Group: Account Assignment must also be entered in setting General Ledger Accounts'.

(Here ABC represents as Chart of Accounts and XXX represents as General Ledger Account)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
  3. Select the project and open activity list.
  4. Open activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
  5. Click link Edit chart of accounts.
  6. Select the Chart of Accounts and press Delete.

You get the below error messages:

'Value ABC in setting G/L Account Group: Account Assignment must also be entered in setting Chart of Accounts'.
'Value XXX in setting G/L Account Group: Account Assignment must also be entered in setting General Ledger Accounts'.

Cause

In the Budget Queries Fine Tune activity some G/L account assignments have not been removed from the G/L account groups for reporting setting.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Access the Budget Queries Fine Tune activity, either from the Implementation Project or from the Business Configuration overview. 
  3. Select the Edit G/L account groups for reporting link. 
  4. In the new screen Search for G/L Accounts which is assigned to the G/L account groups in question. 
  5. Press Delete to remove the account assignment.

Now you are able to delete the Chart of Account.
