2158479 - Database encryption problem after ASE 16 upgrade with Error 806 - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Upgrade the server to ASE 16.x and you want to encrypt an ASE database with an encryption key using ALTER DATABASE command.
  • You have to run the ALTER DATABASE command twice to make the encryption work.
  • Below error reported after encryption
    Error 806 is reported 
    Msg 806, Level 21, State 1:
    Server 'SERVERNAME', Line 1:
    Could not find virtual page for logical page 858993713 in database
    'DBNAME'.
