2160814 - Scalar UDF does not support SQL statements error during UDF creation

Symptom

  A.    While creating a User Defined Function (UDF) containing a "select" statement.

Could not execute 'CREATE FUNCTION EXAMPLE_UDF (v_in integer) RETURNS result integer LANGUAGE SQLSCRIPT SQL SECURITY ...'
SAP DBTech JDBC: [7]: feature not supported: Scalar UDF does not support SQL statements

    B.    This issue may also occur during an import of catalog objects that include UDFs containing SELECT INTO statements.

 SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: table import failed: [30111] Import failed (could not execute create statement);object=<schema_name>:<UDF_name>,feature not supported: Scalar UDF does not support SQL statements
