2161370 - Receive error in IDT "java.util.ArrayList cannot be cast to java.lang.String" when testing HANA SAML SSO connection

Symptom

  • When connecting via predefined (HANA account) testing succeeds but when changing the connection to SSO the relational connection test fails with "java.util.ArrayList cannot be cast to java.lang.String"
  • subsequently any report based off one of these connections would fail with various error messages
  • ngdbc logs in KBA 1727859 show invalid username or password
