1. Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.5 System Administration Guide: Volume 1 contains:

"You cannot run DTM until you install a valid license. If you have not installed a valid license, Adaptive Server logs an error message and does not activate the feature.

2. ASE 16 SP01 XA Interface Integration Guide for CICS, Encina, and TUXEDO contains:

To function in a SAP XA environment, your SAP ASE server must be licensed and configured to use
the distributed transaction management feature.

If your SAP ASE server is licensed to use distributed transaction management, you can enable
