Symptom

  • Taking database backup in parallel and/or with (large) number of stripes
  • The following error message is reported:

     Database XXXX: 53194 kilobytes (1%) DUMPED.
     Database XXXX: 99974 kilobytes (2%) DUMPED.
     Database XXXX: 142194 kilobytes (3%) DUMPED.
     Cannot create a Open Server thread as the maximum number of service threads configured ('16115') has already been reached.
     Increase the value via -P command line option and restart the Backup Server..
