2165569 - How to set up Table Access Privileges for the Enterprise Search Table-Based Scenario

  • Symptom 1:
You want to run Enterprise Search as a table-based scenario on HANA.
After creation of connectors for table-based models (e.g. models from software component SAPAPPLH) you see that the connectors have not been created as table-based connectors. Instead, they have been generated as to-be-replicated connectors. You can recognize this if the connectors do not get set to status ‘Active’ immediately, but only to status ‘Prepared’. When you expand the connector in the ESH Cockpit you see under ‘Tables’ that the nodes belonging to the connector are based on generated tables “ESH:xxxxxx~xxxxxx~…” and not, as expected, based on the DDIC table defined in the model. (See DDIC table name in the table name field in the illustration below)

  • Symptom 2:
You run Enterprise Search as a table-based scenario on HANA.
On connector creation or on authorisation index population you receive error messages: Error code 258, Error message: “Insufficient privilege: …”

  • SAP Basis 740
  • Enterprise Search
  • Relevant for the scenario: Table-based Search on HANA
