2168007 - Self Approval Of Sales Quotes Cannot Be Skipped

You create a sales quote and you are also the direct approver of sales quotes. As you created the sales quote you expect the approval process to be skipped.

Business ByDesign

1. Go to the New Business work center.
2. Go to the Sales Quotes view.
3. Select sales quote XYZ (XYZ is the identification of the sales quote).
4. Click the Edit button.
5. Click the View All button.
6. Go to the General tab.

You can see that you are maintained as the employee responsible for this sales quote.

Go to the Approval Process tab.

You can see that you are maintained as the direct approver of the sales quote. Therefore you expect the Approval Process to be skipped as you would have to approve your own sales quote.

If the person who is creating the quote is also the direct approver in the approval process and if he/she does not have a manager then this situation occurs.
If the approval process is scoped and the approval process is defined then there is no way to skip this process. The task will be triggered to the direct approver even though he/she is the employee responsible for the quote.

You would have to approve the sales quote or the approval task would have need to be reassigned to a manager if one exists for you.

The system hereby is working as designed.
