2169814 - Public Holidays are not Displayed in the Employee's Timesheet

Symptom

Public holidays are missing from the time sheet of a specific employee, while another employee under the same Reporting Line Unit has them correctly displayed.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Time Administration work center.
  2. Go to Time Recording > Calendar / List view.
  3. Search for the respective employee and click Edit.
  4. Go to Calendar tab.

Search for a date that should be marked as Public Holiday and notice that it's not marked.

The same view is available in the employee's Time File on the Employee Times tab.

Now following the same steps for another employee of the same Reporting Line Unit you notice that the public holidays are correctly displayed.

Cause

The reason for public holidays not being displayed is because there is no Work Schedule assigned for the employee.

To resolve this issue, you must assign both a Work Schedule and a Time Model to the employee, so the correct holidays will be picked up. The system would be able to recognize which days are holidays by comparing with the planned times which come from the Work Schedule of the employee.

Once done, an execution of a correction run (Day Closure Run) for the respective employee is required.

Resolution

In order to maintain the Work Schedule and the Time Model to the employee, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Time Administration work center.
  2. Go to Employees view.
  3. Search for the respective employee and click Edit.
  4. Move to Time Profile tab.
  5. Take note of the Start Date of the Time Profile.
  6. Go to Work Schedule tab.
  7. Select the Work Schedule (For example: Predefined).
  8. Under Predefined Work Schedule section, select the Time Model.
  9. Click Save and Close.

Now follow the steps below to execute the correction run to this employee (Day Closure Run):

  1. Go to Time Administration work center.
  2. Go to Regular Tasks view.
  3. Under Time Valuations section, click Run Day Closure for One Employee.
  4. Give the Employee ID.
  5. Select Start Time Valuation and click Run.
  6. Give the Valuation Start Date as the Time Profile Start Date, which you took note on item 5 of the steps to maintain Work Schedule + Time Model.
  7. Click OK.

As a result, the public holidays should be correctly displayed to the employee.
