2169901 - Binary extract column gives "Cannot convert" error on load - SAP IQ

Symptom

  • Loading a file created with IQ Binary Extract that contains a varchar or varbinary column may fail with a conversion error.: 
    "Cannot convert scri to a date(10) (column begin_dt) SQLCODE=-157, ODBC 3 State="07006" Line 1, column 1"
  • In this example "scri" is part of the varchar field's contents and it's name ("description").
